Yep, that’s us! Coming to America, just like Neil says. As you read this, we’re somewhere above the Atlantic, on our ten-hour flight from Munich to Chicago.
(The official itinerary is Tbilisi to Munich, Munich to Chicago, Chicago to Cedar Rapids. We’re actually pretty thrilled we only have three flights. Unfortunately, it’s about 24 hours total, but that’s to be expected when you live halfway around the world.)
We’re coming home for about 2.5 weeks, spending roughly the first week with my family and the second with Sean’s. We’ll be spending time in Iowa City, Waterloo, Wall Lake, Nebraska City, West Des Moines and Portland, seeing mostly family, and friends when we can.
So if things are quiet on the blog, it’s because we’re either driving / flying somewhere, eating something delicious, taking a long, hot shower or sleeping after a particularly good meal. If all goes well – cross your fingers for us! – we’ll be back in Georgia on December 28th, just in time to celebrate the biggest holiday of the year, Georgian New Year.
But first, there’s American Christmas, time with people we love and all the American luxuries we’ve missed. We can’t wait.
