The loyal blog readers might remember my goal from this time last year – to do yoga every single day for the entire month of October. A few friends joined me in my quest and, at least for me, the challenge ended up being incredibly beneficial. I was reminded how much I love yoga. That is good for me, on a variety of levels. That spending time in my own head working in my own body…well, it gives me a clarity that is too easy to miss without a regular practice.
Considering the gluttony, lack of routine and busyness of the past month, I’ve decided to set another goal for myself. Seeing as it’s the second of October already, and yesterday passed in a blur of sleep, football and khinkali (I blame it on the fact it was my first day home in almost three weeks!), I’m making it my 30 Days of Yoga Challenge.
My only rule? That I do at least 15 minute of yoga, every single day – the only exception being illness. Outside of that, my practice can be whatever I want or feel that day.
I think it’d be fun to get some people together to join me in this challenge, so comment or email me if you’re interested. We can help hold each other accountable! (Last year’s post has more information about this.) Sean’s already in and currently executing a lovely tree pose. I hope you’ll join in on the goodness.
I will say that after my first yoga practice in almost 6 weeks (!!) – a quiet, short Yoga Journal podcast and 15 minutes with Bon Iver – I am happy, relaxed and totally have the yoga glow.
Yes! I’m in again. I’ve been doing yoga every day anyway, ever since you got me going last year. Did you know you were so inspiring?
